From the PADI Instructor Manual:

For Advanced Open Water Diver, student divers must meet the following performance requirements:

• Complete five Adventure Dives including Deep and Underwater Navigation dives, plus three other suitable to their dive plans..

• Complete the five Knowledge Reviews for the completed Adventure Dives.

The Student is required to complete the Deep and Navigation dives - these are required skills to help the diver prepare for a wide range of future diving, in the UK or abroad. Managing depth, time, and air consumption are all essential skills, learned during the OWD Course, and the Advanced OWD Course is aimed at improving those skills. These dives are usually undertaken on the same day at an inland site. Can be undertaken 7 days per week.

After that, it is best to select three other "Adventure Dives" that suit the diving you intend undertaking in the future. However, starting with Dry Suit training makes sense as we dive the UK most of the time. Dives under the Adv OW course count towards the full Specialty Courses.

.PLEASE NOTE: WE RUN COURSES AT SELECTED SITES ON THE BEST DAYS TO GIVE YOU TIME AND SPACE IN THE WATER.

Feel free to discuss your intentions in diving, so I can advise you.

Diving anywhere - pick three from the following :

Wreck Diver, Search and Recovery Diver, Dry Suit Diver, Boat Diver, Drift Diver, Night Diver, Photography, or Videography.

Many divers start in warm water and believe they will only dive in similar conditions, then realise how good UK diving IS.

Work through the Advanced Course in the UK - you will be a much better diver for the experience.

The Adventure Dives qualify as the first dive on the equivalent Specialty Course, thus reducing the number of dives required and discounts will then apply to continuing students. Seahorse Dive Club Members are offered the "UK-aimed" version of this course at a reduced fee: Deep, Navigation, Drysuit, Wreck, Search and Recovery...all for £200.00. These are most appropriate to club activities.
